After blowing up at a Reddit user for
creating the infamous Trump body-slamming CNN GIF and coercing an apology
after doxxing
him,
they’ve now been discovered deceptively editing video of the president’s trip
to Poland.
Add this to the recent undercover videos by James O’Keefe of Project Veritas, which showed a CNN producer saying they knew the whole Russia business wasn’t a legit story, and well, you have an implosion of biblical proportions.
According to The Blaze :
CNN’s Chris Cillizza was caught pushing a deceptively edited video that is being shared on social media that makes it appear as though Poland’s first lady snubbed President Donald Trump. A longer version of the video shows what really happened.
Cillizza tweeted, “OHMYGOD” repeated multiple times, with a link to the video that is cut to only three seconds in length.
The video shows Trump greeting Poland’s president Andrzej Duda. Polish first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda appears to snub the U.S. president in order to head to first lady Melania Trump instead.
But a longer version of the video shows that Kornhauser-Duda merely went to greet Melania Trump because the president was himself greeting her husband. A moment later she warmly shakes the hand of President Trump. The later portion of the video was edited out to make it appear that she snubbed the U.S. president.
NBC News editor Bradd Jaffy tweeted the longer video and added, “Folks, Poland’s first lady did not diss Trump’s handshake attempt. She was looking at Melania, shook her hand, then shook Trump’s. Stop.”
Cilizza later stated that he didn’t believe there was any intent to slight the president, but that he simply wasn’t in her line of sight.
So, if there doesn’t seem to be any legitimate intent to snub here, why edit the video to make it look like that’s what happened? And why that tweet?
If the video had been created by a regular citizen, there might be some wiggle room. But by a journalist? It’s highly unprofessional and calls the majority of his work into question.
How can you trust what’s coming from a news organization if they purposefully edit material to back a specific political agenda?
The whole point of journalism is objective reporting of facts, allowing the people access to the information they need to make good decisions and hold elected officials accountable.
If only that were the case still in this country.
